Barron Associates selected by the Air Force to develop Real-time Run-time Assurance for Advanced Autonomy

Barron Associates, Inc. (Barron) was selected by the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) Dayton to develop a real-time run-time assurance (RTA) system for advanced autonomy. The RTA system will support ongoing AFRL work in the areas of autonomy, guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) development, and flight testing. This program builds on past RTA development at Barron and prepares an RTA implementation for flight testing. Autonomous solutions are critical in modern engagements and there is a clear need to rapidly adjust and update autonomous solutions in dynamic settings and changing adversary strategies or tactics. RTA enables changes in autonomous capabilities to be realized in an effective, safe, and rapid manner, ensuring mission objectives are met without unexpected behavior from the system.
